American Airlines Arena 601 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL, 33132

The inauguration of the arena was by a Gloria Estefan concert. It is home for NBA team Miami Heat that played its first game there in January 2, 2000 against Orlando Magic that ended for the win of Miami Heat 111–103.

As part of sponsorship deal relating Arena and American Airlines, a huge aircraft placed on top of Arena’s roof containing in the middle an American Airlines logo. In addition, the arena has also magnificent skyboxes named "Flagship Lounges" like those used at certain premium-class lounges at some American airports.

Locally, it’s often referred to as “triple-A” by sportscasters, or by some news stations as "A3" (A cubed). The atypical scoreboard created by Artist Christopher Janney is a famous mark of the arena. To avoid Traffic congestion and the expensive and scarce parking, it’s preferable to use Metrobus in transportation to the arena including Historic Overtown and Government Center stations.
